Tobias Matthay's Home in Hampstead
After his marriage to Jessie in 1893, Mr. Matthay lived for seven
years at Purley in Surrey, just south of London. In 1901, the Matthays purchased this home on Arkwright Road
in Hampstead, where they lived until they moved to Wimpole Street early in 1909.
Today, the Greater London
Council commemorates this site with a plaque.
